pain & suffering

2 Cor 1: 9 & 10.

people often ask "why me? why does this pain & suffering have to happen? where is God?" i know i have asked questions similar to those countless times in my life.

tonight at bible study, we found the answer in scripture.
2 Cor 1: 3-11. read it.

a basic summary is that God allows pain into our lives so that we can learn to depend on Him, rather than depending on ourselves. God does so by comforting us and transforming our hearts.

Pain: is a way for God to demonstrate His glory and it is a useful way for Him to grow us and teach us. the best part about pain, is that since the fall, God guarantees that the pain be only temporary

He has died on the cross for our sins so that we don't have to. He wasn't forced to do so, but choose to, so that we wouldn't have to. the question we should be asking ourselves is "Why not me? why didn't i die on the cross so that Jesus wouldn't? why would He bless me and give up His own life for me, knowing i would be a continuous sinner?"
