"He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed."
~Isaiah 53
"so love one another"- Jesus
last week at church with Di, the Pastor was talking about sin. the concept to me has had various meanings since growing up. as a child raised in a Catholic home, i viewed sin differently that i do today. when i was younger i thought if i sinned God would punish me and anything bad happening in my life was a direct result of my sins. i honestly believed that the fights between my parents occured because of me. now as a christian adult i see it differently. yes, don't get me wrong, sin is a bad terrible thing, but Jesus paid the punishment for my sins when He died on the cross. whoa!! He wasn't forced to die, He chose to. He decided to die so that i wouldn't have to. that my friends is profound.
so in lite of sinning. i will share this with you.
i have been praying for conviction lately about my actions. i am sinning. i know i am. but i don't feel guilty, not one bit. so last sunday i prayed hard for conviction. i prayed that guilt would hit me and i would repent and start over fresh and clean. well, God answered my prayers...only not how i expected. Muscrat (the boyfriend) came to me this week and told me he has been feeling convicted. ladies and gentlemen that is what we call a "God wink". not only was i given conviction, but accountability as well.
